An ongoing exploration, study and visual analysis of nvshu, 女书,the world's only written language created and used by only women. As a form of rebellion, the script, literally translating to "women's script" acted as a form of code for women who were not allowed to gain access to education to secretly communicate in private.
This collection of images and patterning is the beginning of a larger, developing multidisciplinary project on the nuances and significance of nvshu aiming to reclaim, reintroduce, and reiterate the strength and empowerment built on the basis of oppression and inequality.
