Long-format, immersive book dedicated to the unique and endangered women’s script Nüshu. Interweaving design, translation, and personal interpretation, this work features two academic essays typeset in ways that reflect the emotional cadence and cultural weight of the writing.
Accompanying the texts are visual illustrations extracted from my own writings and translations of Nüshu, forming a dialogue between language and image. Each page is French folded, concealing a delicate written line of Nüshu along the inner folds—echoing the secretive and intimate way this script was historically shared among women, emboidered within their sleeves . This book is both an homage to a silenced language and an exploration of how typography, memory, and form can carry cultural legacy.
